Department for Education supports the closure of Kingswear Community Primary School

To whom it may concern,

Following our listening period I can confirm that the Department for Education supports the closure of Kingswear Community Primary School at the end of the 2023/24 academic year and agrees to the termination of the Supplementary Funding Agreement. The Minister has agreed that there is insufficient pupil recruitment at the school for it to remain viable.

It is being recommended by Devon County Council that primary aged children living in the current Kingswear Primary School catchment area should be eligible for free school transport to Dartmouth Academy, regardless of distance.

Any land and buildings will now return to the freeholders, the Church Wardens of Kingswear.
